10:30 a.m. update » The Gold Rush is on at SND29! We now have a total of five Golds awarded this morning between the features and photo judging groups.
To recap the day’s action, in features, The San Francisco Chronicle wins a Gold medal for entertainment page design for their Datebook feature on “The Cost of a Ticket,” and The New York Times also wins Gold for entertainment page for “The New Season.”
Just in from the photo judges are a trio of Golds — two to The Los Angeles Times for “On the Campaign Trail,” a photo project with the U.S. presidential candidates, and another for staff portfolio. The New York Times Magazine also captured a Gold medal for “Great Performances,” a photo series.
The photo judges also awarded a Judges Special Recognition to The Los Angeles Times for teammwork in photography.
