If you would like your name placed on the “master” list of possible judges for upcoming news design competitions this posting is for you. Judges are selected by the Competition Committee from the master list that is continually updated. One does not have to be an SND member to be a judge. You may nominate yourself if you wish.
Judges are those individuals prominent and/or knowledgeable enough to sit in judgment of the competition. Thirty-two judges are needed each year.
Nominations should be sent to Susan Santoro at SusanS@snd.org . She keeps the list until Competition Committee director Marshall Matlock needs it each fall. The nomination should include the following information, if possible:
• Name (with correct spelling)
• Affiliation (you don’t have to work at a newspaper to be a judge)
• Work title
• Work address with phone number
• E-mail address
• Languages read & spoken
• Provide a few sentences why this person is qualified to be a judge (no resumes, please)

Oh my god. You guys are NEVER going to have to replenish that list.
Hi Marshall,
Is it continue to take a part in it?
As, today is May 3, 2008.
If so, then pl post comment here.
I’m not sure what your question is but let me give a guess. I think you may want to know if it’s too late to nominate a person to judge the next competition
The best response to this question is that it is never too late to get a name with information (note posting) to Susan at the SND office. She will continue to add nominations up until the last minute in late summer. At that point the list is used by the Competition Committee to put together six judging teams with five judges per team. Two additional judges are selected for the general judging in case there are conflicts where one or more judges cannot vote for an entry.
I hope this helps.
If I’ve missed your point please e-mail me directly. My e-mail address is in the SND directory at http://www.snd.org.
